Project summary

Highlander were contacted by a local homeowner near Kilmarnock in Ayrshire, who wanted to increase the security on their residential property. We were asked to design, install, and maintain their fully integrated automatic gate, access control, CCTV, and security systems.

Following an initial site meeting, it was established that the CCTV system was to provide full external perimeter coverage of the property. An intruder alarm was fitted to provide full internal protection to the premises, and the video intercom system allows communication with anybody wanting to gain access from outside the electric gates.

A video door entry system was also installed to enable the opening of the electric gates from within the house, as well as remotely using an app.

The solution

Highlander installed a state-of-the-art IP camera system with remote viewing on a smart device, and repaired and serviced the existing full height-sliding gate to offer total protection, without compromising on aesthetics for the customer’s home.

Highlander upgraded the intruder alarm from its original installation to include further coverage in the customer’s outbuilding. This system can also be controlled and monitored remotely.

The property owner wanted to have an alarm system fitted at their home to act as a deterrent to potential burglars and criminals and take active steps towards improving the safety of both their family and property alike.

The intruder alarm system design included dual technology detectors covering all areas, with door contacts and vibration sensors providing protection on windows and doors. Panic buttons were also placed in key areas throughout the property.

The outcome

The customer was extremely happy with the quality of the workmanship and the finish of the installation.

The security system installation provides the customer with peace of mind when they are on holiday as they’re able to access their camera system remotely via the internet and view the property. They also have connectivity to the alarm system remotely, which provides them with real-time updates wherever they are.

Upon handover, Highlander ensured that the customer received all of the relevant instructions and training on using their new security systems.
